Raahbar Informatic Services, affiliated to the Institute for Trade Studies and Research (ITSR) was established in 1990 for development, and promotion of Information Technology (IT) in commercial and related sectors. The company has defined its policies and strategies to establish a comprehensive trade information system and hence further expansion of national and international trading. In line with its strategic mission, Raahbar has adopted a number of effective measures as follows:

1) Launching of Iran Trade Information Services Network

• Iran Trade Point

  Iran Trade Point was inaugurated on August 1, 1997 in order to promote and facilitate domestic and international trading among traders, especially small and medium size enterprises. The Trade Point policies aligns with 1994 Trade Point Program introduced by the United Nation Symposium on Trade Efficiency which is to provide trade information, facilitation services, and a Gateway to global network. For the realization of these objectives, the Iran Trade Point Center and Network was established as the two main pillars of this program.

• Iran Trade Point Center:

  Iran Trade Point Center has taken on professional trade consultants to assist traders in all aspects of their trade transactions and furthermore help them to promote their products, and penetrate to the global market. The Iran Trade Point Center also secures a focal point for foreign trade organizations to enter to Iran's market and locate their Iranian trade partners.

• Iran Trade Point Network:

  Iran Trade Point Network was established to open up a gateway to international trade networks. A sophisticated web site (www.irtp.com) has been implemented to provide vital trade information and services for domestic and foreign traders, such as :

• Agahgar

  Agahgar is the Iran's commercial BBS providing vital trade information and services such as the ones provided in Iran Trade Point Network in forms of text. The main objective is to expand trade information exchange throughout the country with the most available means of communication whilst complying with international standards. Agahgar currently interconnects major provinces, therefore creating a trade information network in the country.

2) IT Consultation services

• Consultancy in design, implementation and commissioning of trade points, based on World Wide Web Technology.
• Design, development and implementation of trade operation systems based on EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and newly verging EC (Electronic Commerce ) Technology utilizing UN/EDIFACT standards.
• Consultancy, planning, and development of information systems.
