Carpets and other textile
floor coverings
Notes.
1- For the purposes of this Chapter, the term “Carpets and other textile floor covering” means floor coverings in which textile materials serve as the exposed surface of the article when in use and includes articles having the characteristics of textile floor coverings but intended for use for other purposes.
2- This Chapter does not cover floor covering underlays.
1- The exportation of all the goods covered by this chapter is subject to the approval of the Ministry of Commerce.
2- The exportation of carpets and rugs of a kind made wholly or in part of artificial fibres and those woven with sub-standard dyed yarns, as well as those having artificial fibre warp and weft is prohibited.
3- The importation of hair and wool of those animals the meat of which are religiously banned as well as those that are not slaughtered in accordance with the Islamic rites is prohibited.
